drawing on acrylic grounds

I love painting acrylic backgrounds, but am drawn (ha!) to draw on them instead of doing a foreground painting or collaging.

Two things work, a Sharpie or a grease pencil. But those media are like using ink on any other paper--every line must stay, no changing or removing.

everything goes in the chair

My daughter's childhood favorite stuffed animal, a dinosaur named Dino. He has only white ovals for eyes, just like the people in the cartoon Little Orphan Annie.

I drew him upside down, then added the chair around him for color.

This stuffed dinosaur is nose-heavy. But I didn't reveal that in his portrait.

45 seconds of play value

Like nearly all the toys I buy for the cats, this one interested Chaucer for all of 45 seconds. Now it's a model for drawing.

His expression looks haunted and tense. But he need not fear. The cats don't want him.
