a doodle that grew

I kept adding things and ended up kind of liking him. An imagined dog.

drawing on the back cover

Inspired by Carla Sonheim's fun drawings, this guy emerged on the back cover of the linen-textured Reflexions volume.

Difficult to draw on with a Pilot Razor-point marker, but he insisted.

Lizzie in pencil

Her hair is a darker red but I don't have that color in this particular set of pencils.

The model doesn't care.

Colored pencils in the journal.

for once, not a cat

We hung out with 4 dogs in Kansas. Two tiny bouncy ones I could never have captured, and 2 large ones.

This is Scampi, who decided she didn't want to stay there long enough for more detail.

Pen on canson sketchpaper.

sniffing out the trail

The dog sculpture by Giacometti is in New York's Museum of Modern Art. It's the one thing I stood and quickly drew. There was such a huge crowd that day, no place to sit on the floor or I'd have gotten trampled.

And so few benches anywhere! Museum goers have to be on their feet, moving!

Tech pen on random paper.
