Drawing in the Musee d'Orsay

Usually the problem with sketching on site is the moving subject. For these, though, the problem was a continuous flow of people in the walkway between me and the statues, blocking my view.

And I wondered about the model for Schoenewerk, who had to hold that awkward head-down pose for HOW long?

Pen and shading wash in the W/N sketchbook.

Nita, I'm really loving all these sketches. I can see you getting really good at drawing in a hurry under non-ideal conditions. These traveling sketch projects are so good for the budding artist! Not that I'm going to do it any time soon, just that I can see it's really helpful. And so happy you're sharing with us. Just like Danny's video - nice insight into process, yum yum.

As for the Schoenewerk, all I could think was - those breasts are clearly not under the influence of gravity! I wish I could say the same...
