Let no page go blank

Cleaning a brush of acrylic paint, then drawing on top just to fill a page.

In the Robert Bateman journal, a last page.

One foot propped on a footstool, the other leg with bent knee. Capturing the shadows before the model moves.

It's not upside down, I drew him this way.

this never posted

A quick sketch of that corner where Chaucer sits on top of the blue chair--pictured on May 11. Here he's on his window shelf.

I just discovered that this sketch never posted automatically when Blogger went down in May.

Kuretake brush pen, a mid-gray that's water-soluble. In the journal, a small Robert Bateman sketchbook.

last days inside

Soon the fig tree can go outside to nest in the woods. He's much happier there!

Pen and w/c in the "Multi-drawing book" sketchbook. Great paper!

Happy Mother's Day

Playing with art supplies, doing as I please all day long, that's a good Mother's Day.

Acrylic background, w/c painted on a stamp, w/c added. On 140# paper.

Water in the woods

Coming through the woods, I found this perfect little stream and culvert.

Drawn on site, painted later.

backyard landscape

The woods, rock, rhodo, and if you look closely, even a gray squirrel.

W/c and ink in a Robert Bateman sketchbook.

filling a sketchbook page

I liked how the paint flowed and mixed to make a very accurate color like the aged copper bell.
But the rest of the page had plants and a sideways roof.

Pen and w/c in the Robert Bateman sketchbook. I like the 110# paper.
