model ever present

When you have a minute, draw what's nearby.

Proportions not great, but the model doesn't complain when I make her more plump than she is.

Pen and w/c on Moleskine w/c paper.

I am a woman of many talents and am grateful for them, but I've always wished I could more accurately represent that which I see around me in drawing/painting. I can draw reasonably recognizable cartoonish critters to entertain the kids in a restaurant, but my in-earnest sketching has always disappointed me, and after a point I turned to photography, writing, knitting - other more mechanical/tool-driven forms. And I'm happy... but I wish...

It's alllll practice and study and determination, I assure you. I've drawn in intervals over decades. Some teens draw at this level naturally, but for the rest of us, it takes lots and lots of practice.
