Going through old art supplies, sometimes I find a few drawings in sketchbooks bought long ago. That paper is so much thicker than what we buy now for three times the price!
This is smudgy and picked up graphite from the facing drawing, but it's evidence I drew a little way back in 1979. I had time to draw when we lived for three months in New Mexico on (husband's) special job assignment.
I had long hair then, and I still have this carafe.

Nita - I love the 'reflectiveness' of this piece! Charming!
Nice reflections and work.

This is so good! What patience!! :)
This is terrific Nita!! Well done. I don't think I'd have the patience for all those reflections, but wow, it looks great. :o)
Nita, This drawing is so sleek and the reflections are great. Yes, sketchbook paper quality has deteriorated. When they started to put "suitable for dry media" on the covers it was all over, though I do find that the sketchbooks made by Cachet still have much better paper than the Canson. Great drawing.
Just to say, I don't have this patience any more. Much less time in both my days and my lifespan--got to draw fast :-)
This is a beautiful piece! You're right -- sketchbooks now are really terrible. Canson does make a spiral book that looks just like their sketch books, but it says "Drawing" rather than sketch. The paper is much heavier and really nice to work on with pencil.
This is such a strong drawing--very finished and complete. Love how we can see the reflected you!
love the relections in this, a beautiful drawing!
