my oil painting kit, packed

A roll-aboard tote bag, with a Sienna Pochade box, its tripod, plus a box of paints, a box of brushes, and a tiny bottle of odorless turpentine.

A 11x14 canvas fits in fine, and I carry the wet painting home clipped to a skirt/pants hanger. Works great!

Watercolor pencil, dissolved, on drawing paper.

G in a scarf

She has lovely big eyes, but this came out a bit cartoonish.

Oil on cotton canvas board.

I dried a thin slice and drew it in charcoal pencil. W/c added.

Colored pencil, use like a pen

I'm please with how this came out. No erasing of a black colored pencil! It just flowed out quickly, before he moved.

a doodle, a face, a shoe

Filling a page. I did the face from imagination and the premarked lines on the paper turned into a scar in just the right place.

a doodle and a face

I didn't have to pause the video. In Danny Gregory's interviews of the people in his book, An Illustrated Journey, each person faces the camera for so long as they listen and talk, they move very little.

Great book, great interviews about each person's process and gear. And this new doodle that I'm fascinated with making.

that mask again

Pasted onto a journal page with a copy of a sketch by James Thurber. Seemed like a good pairing.

that's just a model, not me

Don't cringe, just draw what's (unfortunately) there.

mixed media and audio books

Idly filling a journal page while I listen to an audio book. Colored pencil for the watch, gel pen and w/c for the bear.

hands in blue gel

Sometimes I really love the color that emerges from the changing gel pens, but it never lasts.

sneakers, trainers, runners?

What's the latest term for athletic shoes?

Pen and w/c on Stillman & Birn Epsilon paper. (Love it!)
